Sussex and Surrey Partitioning undertook refurbishing and refitting the 1st Floor of Lancaster House in Brighton, where Avalara have their UK headquarters.

The Take-down:

The project involved some extensive demolition, including glass, graphics, and signage. In the kitchen area, cabinets, countertops, appliances, and a hand sink were removed. Hanging lights and ceiling rope fixtures were taken down. Booths, walls, and the ceilings of beach huts were dismantled. Old data left underfloor and carpet tiles were removed, to name just a few of the breakdown works required.

The Fit Out: 

• We supplied all the new office furniture including:
  • 138 desks (including Drive Electric Height Adjustable Bench Desks and Executive desks) and pedestals.
  • Office chairs, meeting room chairs, visitors’ chairs, side chairs.
  • Filing drawer cabinets.

All fitting in with Avalara’s corporate colour scheme and their high specifications. We also fitted a new, waterproof carpet that was sourced in the United States and needed to be shipped over to the UK.

•  We configured the power and data for the new office set-up.
• Some unique, interesting features of the project work were:
  • The installation of a bespoke feature kitchen with a Tiki roof and designer lighting, including granite work tops and a beer tap.
  • The installation of an innovative reception desk.
  • Within the meeting rooms, acoustic wall panelling was fitted for noise reduction.

We effortlessly overcame any difficulties associated with a project of this size.  We worked to a high standard and managed to complete the project within the required time. Avalara were pleased with the outcome of the 1st Floor Project and engaged us to undertake the refurbishment and refit of the 2nd and 3rd Floors at Lancaster House.
